hi ho, hi ho...

i know that i'm lucky to have the opportunities that i have when it comes to work. i've gotten to go to a bunch of cool places while getting paid (like the world series and the super bowl), that i probably wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

i also get to go to places i would *never* voluntarily visit *cough* nascar *cough*.

however, this job can be brutal at times. i have to stand (which is hell on my arthritic, bone spur-racked, scoliosis-having back) look good, be sociable, annoy (and sometimes harass) total strangers, ask for personal information, hand out crap that some people don't want, lie and say "no, we will not sell your email address", get hit on by guys that are usually drunk and obnoxious, not take rejection personally, and withstand brutal temperatures (both hot and cold) for hours at a time.

i should be grateful to work at all, given the economy, but it is still extremely difficult, especially when the last thing you feel like doing is being social and bubbly. i hate that word. and you feel emotionally drained and physically abused at the end of it all.

i have now vented, no fixes or solutions, please. i am cleansed.

now off to a hot, epsom salt bath, darvocet, and the heating pad...
